I’ve remembered these things.
I took the train from Edinburgh‘s Waverley Station to London, King’s Cross on a Sunday and I got into London at about 2pm. The adventure had started. I had been in London before, in imagination and in reality. We used to visit my auntie and uncle in Chingford and often we drove in from there. My mum had visited her grandfather there and my dad had worked there as a painter for about six months in the early fifties.
